The South Bay Adult School is excited to announce the launch of our updated and free High School Diploma program! Adult students will now complete coursework through the Acellus on-line learning system which customizes lessons to the unique needs of each student. Pacing of each lesson is tailored to provide more content and practice time on concepts that are challenging to students, and less time on concepts that students have mastered. Textbooks are not required and students are free to study at times that are convenient for them, day or night, wherever an internet connection is available. Students should expect to study on their own approximately 15 hours per week. In addition to the on-line learning, students will meet one hour per week in our Learning Center to receive support from our credentialed teachers. Additional Learning Center time can be scheduled for students who require an internet connection or computer access.
The High School Diploma program classes are divided into four, 10 week terms, and registration for classes will need to be renewed each quarter during the enrollment schedule below:
Quarter 1: Classes: September 6 - November 4 Registration is closed for this quarter
Quarter 2: Classes: November 7- February 3 Registration on-line October 10-14
***IMPORTANT*** A copy of your high school transcript is required to enroll. You may drop it off or email it directly to firstname.lastname@example.org We are currently accepting transcripts for Quarter 2.
Quarter 3: Classes: February 7 - April 7
Quarter 4: Classes: April 17- June 20

-Enroll on-line (returning and new students): Registration CLOSED FOR THIS QUARTER, Registration for next quarter open October 10-14, 2016
-Submit official transcript from last high school attended to SBAS office. Transcripts must be in official and sealed envelopes (new students). Transcripts must be received before your classes can be scheduled.
-Attend intake meeting with SBAS Counselor (new students)
-Attend three-hour reading and math assessment and orientation session at SBAS (returning and new students)
-Choose courses and schedule appointments with teacher in the High School Diploma Learning Center (returning and new students)
